Former Non-Resident Fellow

Janika Schmitt was a Non-Resident Fellow at the Institute for Progress, focusing on biotechnology, biosecurity, and pandemic preparedness policy.

Previously, she researched antivirals for her medical doctorate at the University of Cambridge and worked on a pathogen early warning system at MIT. Janika is a physician by training and studied medicine in Heidelberg, Oxford, and Berlin.
