Andrew Gerard is a Senior Metascience Fellow at IFP. His research focuses on federal science policy and the US research ecosystem. He also curates the Macroscience newsletter. In addition to his work at IFP, Andrew is an Adjunct Professor in the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University.
Before joining IFP, Andrew was Deputy Director of the Research Division at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), where he led internal science policy efforts and managed international science programming. He also led a global faculty development program at Michigan State University and worked with universities, governments, and foundations on international science policy at the Global Knowledge Initiative. He holds a PhD from Michigan State University in Community Sustainability, a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University, and a BS from Andrews University in Behavioral Sciences.
